Message: please configure a valid API key
Translator PRO depends on a Deepl API key to translate your documents.
The first 500.000 characters / month are free of charge.
You account type must be of type "API" to get API access.
The plugin doesn't work with "CAT Tools API key".
If you already have an account with the CAT Tools API key, you will need to create a new account.
If you don't have one you can create an account here :
https://www.deepl.com/en/pro-api
After that you can generate API keys on your account tab :
In log file: TypeError: Network request failed
Network request failed on your log file usually means failure to reach our backend server: http://212.227.188.20:8099/api/v1 , If you are connected to a network behind a firewall ( usually enterprise networks are ) , please make sure to whitelist our backend URL.
Document naming and location rules
Try to avoid naming your documents with special characters, if necessary create a copy with a simple name for the translation purpose.
Translating documents which are stored on a network drive is not supported in the actual version.
Make sure to choose a folder on which you have write rights as a downloads' folder, it should not be a shared or cloud folder.
Adding a glossary file
Glossaries should have only two columns, one for the source language and one for the target language.
There are a few rules to follow when making a glossary file:
- No duplicates on the first column
- No commas in any cell
- No extra spaces and the start or end of any text
Here's a very simple example of an english -> french glossary file: glossary_example_EN_FR
File size limit
In order to not overload the server, there is a limit of 200MB on files to translate.
If your document's size exceeds 200MB, we recommend you divide it into multiple parts and merge your translated files once they're done translating.
